To be a Luminary is to make the world around you brighter, sparking conversations and blazing trails for others to follow. We chose this word for our business name to remind ourselves that community service is the core reason we exist. When we’re known for tax advising second, we’ll know we’re doing it right.

Neurodivergent Hiring Program

Neurodivergence by its very nature can’t be boiled down to a single personality type. However, many autistic and other ND people do identify with a consistent set of strengths such as focus, memory, and attention to detail — traits that are desirable in the tax industry. So, an idea formed: why not close the ND career gap and the tax talent gap at the same time?

Our Neurodivergent Hiring Program is not an internship; participants are salaried employees on day one. The difference is in our approach to training. The program includes:

  • Competitive wages and benefits.
  • An autism-friendly environment with individual accommodations as needed.
  • Education on tax preparation from mentors who understand (or possess) neurodivergent minds.
  • A permanent spot on the team, if they so choose, once they’ve “completed” the program.
  • Or, assistance with resume building and job searching for those who aspire to work in a different field.

Our program partners are local organizations that celebrate and support ND individuals and their families, including PALS of UCF, Florida Institute of Community Inclusion (FICI), Jack & Ali Superhero 5K, and Special Hearts Farm.

Employee Empowerment

At Luminary, we believe there are two kinds of paychecks; the one that fills your bank account, and the one that fills your spirit. We want to give our employees an ample supply of both, offering incentives for charitable giving and continuing education so they can continue to grow and thrive, both on and off the clock.

Charitable Giving. Employees who donate to charitable organizations will have their donations matched, up to $1,500 per year. Volunteer hours will also be matched, either with equal time or equivalent monetary contributions.

Continuing Education. Employees receive up to $5,250 per year toward continuing education expenses or paying down student loans.
