28 years ago today was my Bar Mitzvah. Before the service, my dad put his hand on my shoulder, and he started, "Son..."
He paused. In that moment, 13 year old me was hoping for great words of wisdom. Instead I got:
"You ain't a man til you start paying taxes."
It's one thing to say to someone, "I'll always be there if you need it." It's something else completely to actually do it.
And I'm blessed to be surrounded by people who are actually there to do it, both locally and here on #TaxTwitter (and TaxTwitter adjacent).
The thing I've valued most over the course of the last month is the kindness of people. I sometimes forget just how kind you crazies are on #TaxTwitter, but you've been the kindest individuals, and I appreciate it immensely.
